Hi, I’m Ranjani. A creative leader with 15+ years making creative content and experiences for iconic brands.
My areas of expertise are creative direction and building best in class creative teams; driving client relationships through creative; brand positioning and strategy; editorial direction; and content creation across platforms.
Early in my career, I was a trend forecaster and culture journalist, covering music, fashion, and lifestyle for a publications like FADER, Refinery29, V Magazine, Vogue.com, and others. I am the author of New York’s 50+ Best Little Shops, published by Rizzoli.
My advertising journey began at Condé Nast, working in house as a creative director and copywriter at Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, and Glamour for over 7 years. I went on to be a creative director at AR New York and Laird + Partners, where I worked on branding and creative for Swarovski, Four Seasons, Anne Klein, Lane Bryant, Rimmel London, Anne Klein, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, and more. In 2016, I was hired as POPSUGAR’s first ever in house agency creative director, building and leading an integrated creative team to make branded content and experiences for a multitude of iconic brands like Ulta Beauty, H&M, Target, Revlon, H&M, and others. Recently, I was SVP Group Creative Director at Taylor, managing and developing the creative team and function, and leading work on Diageo, Capital One, Samsung, Bulova Watches, and others.
Currently, I’m SVP, Story at the award-winning Day One Agency in New York City, where I lead and guide a team of excellent creatives to make excellent earned creative work for clients like American Express, e.l.f. cosmetics, and Amazon.
When I'm not working, I'm writing, painting, cooking, traveling, scoring amazing vintage, and cultivating my film geekery. Currently, I’m developing an Indian textile and fashion project with my sister Nandini.
